In short

What is the TolaPay MCP server?

It is a Model Context Protocol server at https://api.tola.com.np/mcp that lets AI assistants use TolaPay as a tool. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor, sign in to TolaPay and approve the app. It can then read your customers, invoices, payments, subscriptions and revenue, and in test mode create customers, products, checkouts, payment links, discounts and invoices. It can never refund, never change live data, and never do more than your own role allows.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools. TolaPay runs an MCP server, so an assistant you connect can look up your customers, invoices and payments, and in test mode create checkouts, discounts and invoices for you.

Which AI apps work with TolaPay?

Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT with developer mode connectors, Cursor, and other MCP apps that support signing in with OAuth. They all use the same server URL: https://api.tola.com.np/mcp.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in to TolaPay and approve the app, and it gets short-lived access that renews on its own. Developers who prefer keys can still send a tola_test_ key instead.

Can an AI assistant move money or issue refunds?

No. There is no refund tool, and live mode is read-only. In test mode an assistant can create checkouts and invoices in your test data, where no real payment happens.

Who sees my data?

The assistant you connect reads the data it needs to answer you, and that provider processes it under its own terms. TolaPay only shares what the tools return, only with apps you approve, and never more than your role allows.

How do I disconnect an app?

In the TolaPay dashboard, open Developers → AI assistants and click Disconnect next to the app. It loses access at once. Owners and admins can disconnect any member's apps.

Does it cost extra?

No. AI assistant access is part of TolaPay and free during the public beta. Your AI app's own plan and limits apply.
